How to get ahead of competitors as we emerge from lockdown

sign.jpg

Are you worried about what the future holds for your company? Are you in the same boat as many of us who know they need to re-double efforts and build to make up for any disruption suffered and then thrive? Are you worried about how you can do this when you can’t afford to employ more people?

We are all hoping that the continued easing of lockdown measures, and the re-emergence of people and businesses alike from this enforced hibernation sustains its momentum, but it is also a concern for many about where the business goes from here.

Whilst there is so much uncertainty, your dilemma of needing extra staff to either sustain or grow your business can become a real headache.  This can be the difference between you stealing a march on competitors or, in the worst case, going under.

The team at Recruit Recruit has 4 top tips to help deal with this situation and - you’ll like this – we don’t charge for TWO of them!

  1. Find your right Freelancer - We have an extensive network of contacts, having been around for a good few years building up great connections, not only in the local area, but throughout the UK and beyond.  This enables us to offer introductions to trusted, reputable freelancers free of charge. Using experienced freelancers for a project or to test the water before committing to more hours/bigger projects/employed staff can be an excellent way to make sure the right things get done at the right investment levels.

  2. Hire an interim/temporary specialist - If an interim contractor or temporary worker would suit your situation better, then we can help by providing a fully interviewed, reference-checked individual.  All back-office support will be handled by us – invoicing, payroll, tax, NI etc. with no minimum or maximum contract length.

  3. Outsourced HR, H&S, Recruitment or Training – If your business is on the cusp of high growth or needs pivotal senior management expertise, we have partners that specialize in HR, H&S, and all sorts of training.  You can also outsource your recruitment projects to us and pay on a daily or hourly rate.  This is a very cost-effective way to recruit and has often led to us building an internal team for the client as their company grows – doing ourselves out of some business but meeting their needs!  If it’s extra training for your workforce that’s needed then we can help, whether it’s sales, HR, business coaching or even sadly redundancy workshops, then these can be delivered on a pay-as-you-go basis to suit your requirements.

  4. Protecting your business - Should you be in a position to engage your own freelancers, but are lacking the expertise to deal with contracts, agents/license agreements, we can put you in touch with a legal specialist who focuses on covering and protecting your interests when operating in the gig economy.

If you have never considered using the skills of freelancers, or interim workers, then perhaps now is exactly the right time to do so.  They can provide the necessary expertise you need to carry out a specialist project or simply free you up from mundane tasks to allow you to focus your attention where it’s most needed.  All this with knowledge that at the end of the contract you are under no obligation to retain them, or alternatively if everything turns out swimmingly, then there could be a permanent position for them.

If you would like to find out more on why smart companies use outsourced services or temporary staffing solutions during economic uncertainty read our blog - albeit written before the pandemic – it is still pertinent to the current situation: https://recruitrecruit.co.uk/blog-ar/smart-temps/
