My client is a well-established business that provides sales and rentals of accessories and consumables to businesses that use fork-lift trucks.  Theirs is a very lucrative market and there are excellent commissions and bonuses to be made. 

This independent business operates a relaxed environment where people are empowered to get on with it and are expected to bring in the results. They have a low turnover of staff and allow people to work with autonomy.  While support, shadowing and training will be given, the successful candidate will be somebody who learns quickly and can demonstrate a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.

The current GM is undertaking new projects and now needs somebody to support him in maintaining and increasing sales and profitability. 

  • Existing accounts will be inherited so excellent account management skills are essential. 
  • New business will need to be driven, so negotiation and deal-making skills are essential. 

Based in Cannock there will be some requirement to travel throughout the UK and Ireland on sales and service calls. 

Salary & Benefits: There is a basic salary of £20K + realistic first year OTE of £35K.  A company car and pension are provided, and additional employee benefits will be discussed based on length of service and results.  It is anticipated that years 3 and 4 should generate a realistic OTE in excess of £100K - £200K+. 

The role will involve:

  • all aspects of sales and business development to include:
  • prospecting and cold calling
  • site visits and territory management
  • 360° account management
  • deal brokering and negotiation
  • reporting to senior management team.

Selling or purchasing in a manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environment is an advantage but not essential.
