This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful, growing West Midlands based provider of HR, Health & Safety and employment law services to businesses across the whole of the UK.

The successful candidate will have a professional approach, will be looking to join a friendly, supportive company and be able to work self-confidently with an amount of autonomy.  The role will suit someone with experience of working as an HR Consultant, with a proven track record of advising employers on complex and varied employment issues.

As an HR Consultant the successful applicant will be providing commercial advice to clients on a wide range of employment law and HR issues. The client base covers a wide range of UK industries and businesses, providing a varied work load and the opportunity to build good client relationships by seeing the case through from start to finish.

Essential requirements:  The successful HR Consultant will have:

  • Relevant qualifications - ideally CIPD Level 7 (or CIPD Level 5 with extensive hands-on experience)
  • Technical experience is essential, with the ability to offer advice to a wide range of clients
  • Tact, diplomacy and an eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional approach
  • A self-motivated attitude and the ability to work with autonomy
  • A full Driving Licence.

The duties of the HR Consultant are:

  • To provide end-to-end telephone advice and support on a wide range of issues including terms & conditions, disciplinary and grievance, sickness and absence, performance and misconduct, TUPE, redundancy, discrimination, dismissal, employee relations, recruitment etc.
  • Draft and review client contractual documentation, including employee contracts, handbooks, apprenticeship agreements, etc.
  • Provide on-site HR support - client visits will be required, with nationwide coverage so occasional overnight stays will be necessary
  • Undertake training and seminars as required
  • Drafting ET3 responses
  • Preparation of Tribunal Bundles
  • Representation of clients at Tribunals
  • Attend new business prospect meetings
  • Provide technical input into the monthly newsletter.

Salary:  £30,000 to £40,000 plus bonus
Benefits: Free car parking, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, company pension, mileage allowance, company incentives.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:15am to 5:15pm, with half hour lunch.
