This is a great opportunity for a good sales / business developer to really make their mark within an already successful business.

The role would suit somebody who enjoys the challenge of maximising revenues from existing & lapsed customers in addition to generating new business.  The successful candidate will have worked previously in Internal Sales, as a Sales Representative, or in a Field Sales role and will initially focus on cross & up-selling into existing accounts.  You will be provided with an extensive database that is ripe for introducing new products into.

You must have previous experience of selling into Builders’ Merchants and multiple retailers.

My client manufactures goods that are supplied throughout the UK and Europe.  They remain family-owned and run.  This makes them very passionate about what they do while taking the time to make sure that the workforce is valued and recognised.  This role is mainly focused on account managing key accounts and existing relationships, with the opportunity to also bring in new business.

The role provides excellent opportunities for an ambitious Internal Sales professional to develop into a field-based role within a few years, if that is what you are after.  Alternatively, it will also suit a solid Internal Sales professional who is seeking long-term security and loves nurturing ongoing relationships.

The role:  Internal Sales
Responsibilities will include:

  • Internal sales – primarily calling existing clients and lapsed accounts and closing over phone
  • Account management of buying group accounts, multiples, and independent builders’ merchant accounts
  • Attending trade shows and exhibitions
  • Building existing, lapsed & new client relationships
  • Maintaining CRM & customer database
  • Liaising with internal support functions & production.

The candidate:
You must have:

  • Internal and/or external B2B sales experience
  • The ability to close over the phone
  • Good account management skills
  • A full driving licence
  • The desire to develop the role to a full 360° sales & account management role
  • Experience within the Builders’ Merchant, Hardware or Tool sector is essential.

The role offers an attractive starting salary of £22K - £26K dependent on experience.  A good pension, and private healthcare package are also available.  Based at the Willenhall offices which provide free parking facilities.
