I am seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with a manufacturing or engineering background for a client who listens to new ideas and is supportive in implementing them.  The role is based in Perry Barr and, as part of a larger group, there are great long-term prospects for career progression and development.

My client offers a competitive starting salary of £25k - £28k, contributory pension, and benefits along with good career progression.

Automotive or casting experience is advantageous and manufacturing experience is most important.

The role involves:

  • Performing product and process audits
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to management
  • Work closely with production to develop process flows; PFMEA; Control Plans and Operating Quality Standards
  • Dimensional and visual verification of product
  • Monitor KPIs such as Supplier Monitoring, First Pass Yield, Scrap and Rework Analysis
  • Monthly reports for Quality Manager
  • Support root cause analyses and prevention of defect recurrence
  • Reporting directly to Quality Manager (who is a thoroughly nice chap!)

You need:

  • Experience in Quality assurance within a fast-paced manufacturing facility
  • HNC in mechanical engineering or similar desirable
  • Experience within die-casting, foundry or automotive environment will be advantageous
  • Understanding of APQP and NPI concepts

Personal traits:

  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible approach
  • Competent in MS Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel
